I had my 'ah ha!' moment last summer. I'm not trying to sound “cliché”, but I was the walking epitome of the “fitness don't”. I was constantly tired, had no energy and felt like I was always in a fog, so I decided to do a Google search for a Personal Trainer. I wanted a boost to lose some weight, learn some new exercises and kick start working out again. Since then I have embarked on a journey that has taken me down a path of physical and emotional self discovery.
When I first started, I was unsure about how far I was willing to go. I would ask myself, “Am I even ready to begin living healthier? Was this going to work out this time? What was going to be different this time around?”. The answer to these and to the many other questions that plagued me was rather simple.
This time I had Marlon in my corner to motivate and courage me with positive affirmations. Marlon motivated me by encouraging me to push myself a little bit harder every time. He makes you aware that your power lies within yourself and that you just have to harness what you already have.
Now that am on my own, I have taken one of the lessons he taught me.
You can only get back what you put out. That is how I have been successful and strive to continue to push forward. Marlon has shown me how to enjoy working out. It is not a daunting task. It has become my lifestyle.
Marlon is a Personal trainer, but more so, he is a motivator, coach, nutritional consultant and a real source of empowerment for me. I now understand that the sky is not the limit but taking this first step truly the beginning of all the things I hope to accomplish!

With Marlon Teekah: Dynamic Fitness Training, I went from 190 pounds to 160 pounds, losing a total of 30 pounds and 17 inches in 3 months. That’s approximately 10 pounds a month! I also went from a size 13 to size 8 and I can now again fit into clothes that I haven’t been able to wear for the past five years, and it feels fantastic, I feel fantastic! Moreover, I have been able to maintain my results for over a year!
Marlon is a great Personal Trainer and training with him is an investment that I was glad I made. He was fun to work out with and he was a constant source of encouragement and motivation. He was always pushing me to do just “one more” push up or one more sit-up making me achieve things that I didn’t think I was capable of doing- after I was finished working out it felt like I had definitely accomplished something. I have always been into working out and quite active. But over the last couple of years I found that my regular workout routines were “stale” and that I lost motivation to stay active and fit. I felt that I was only going through the motions when at the gym and that I was not seeing progress- In fact I was gaining weight! I found Marlon through a friend who had had great success and finally I stopped making excuses and started Personal Training with Marlon. Marlon’s dynamic workouts pushed me to go beyond my comfort zone and to work at an intensity I was unable to do myself. Marlon worked hard to keep our sessions challenging and interesting as to prevent boredom. Some of my favourite workouts were outside at the local park where the change of scenery and fresh air really brought the workout to the next level. Marlon is excellent at keeping in touch and he ensured that I stayed on the right track with both my workouts and nutrition through consistent phone calls, text messages and emails. I signed up for a gym in the past but didn't appreciate the "car salesman" pitch they gave me to join their gym. The gym also gave me an assessment of my body and made me feel bad about myself, thus leading me to join their gym. They also tried to swindle me out of my money. They made me a "plan" to pay for personal training and on top of that I'd have to pay for a gym membership. I never asked for the plan nor did I want to hear about how bad my body was.
Marlon never made me feel bad about myself, nor did he try to swindle me out of my money. Marlon actually worked out a great plan for me that helped me save a lot of money and let me bring a friend along to make the workouts easier. He also has a semi private studio, so I didn't have to pay for a pricey gym membership. All I had to pay for were the workouts that were personal and catered to help me reach my goals.
When I first started I had high expectations. I wanted to lose weight, lose inches and tone my body. I wasn't sure if it was possible in a three month span, but Marlon made it happen! He gave me great tips on how to change my eating habits, gave me a list of foods that I should be eating, and each week he would give me feedback about my nutrition log.
In terms of the workouts, Marlon always tried to push me to my ultimate best even when I didn't think I could. I really appreciate working out with him because he wouldn't let me slack off, and he made my goals his goals. We worked together and I could see the changes in myself each week.
I have never been a large person, but after we finished our sessions, I lost six inches off my waist, one inch off my hips, I can now run longer distances, and I honestly feel a lot better about my body and myself. Marlon was also very humble about helping me reach my goals. When I told him that he changed me, he didn't take any credit. He told me it was all me and that I was the one who made the positive changes. That shows me a lot about who he is as a person.
I had a great time working out with Marlon and would highly recommend him or his staff. He's there for you when you need him, he pushes you, he makes your goals his goals, always has a smile on his face, and you will see results at the end of your training.

I met Marlon through my son Jason. Jason had been training with Marlon for a few weeks and he had told me how dedicated and focused Marlon is when it comes to his fitness training. When I decided to train with Marlon, my only focus was to lose weight. However, after meeting and training with him, it was evident that Marlon takes a holistic interest in his clients. Marlon was very motivating and encouraging. He did not speak down to me or have anything negative to say. When I would say “Marlon I CAN’T do it”, he would respond positively by saying “Think positive…You CAN do it… you are a hard worker.” Knowing what I am capable of doing since he designed the program specifically for me.
In two months, I lost 17 lbs and 8 inches total (getting into my hourglass/ coca-cola bottle figure), my eating habits have dramatically improved, I have a lot more energy than at the beginning of my sessions, and I can do exercises that are more challenging. The past two months with Marlon have also enabled my self confidence to grow about how I perceive myself physically. My wardrobe consists of a lot of dark coloured clothes, and huge sweaters and T-shirts. I realized that the brightness that is within me should be translated outside as well. As I continue on this journey towards my goal, I heed Marlon’s advice, redefining my wardrobe to “Bright and Tight”! Marlon has given me the tools necessary to continue on my own. He still checks in to see how things are going and to make sure I’m on track. This experience has truly been excellent, and I recommend Marlon Teekah: Dynamic Fitness Training to anyone who has any type of physical goal. You surely won’t regret it!
